Croscombe Village Orchestra (Saturday 20th May 2017)
St Michael’s welcomed Croscombe Village Orchestra for another successful concert. A selection of eighteenth and nineteenth century music delighted a packed church. The programme included a work to demonstrate the newly installed Sweetland organ: Handel’s organ concerto in F with Edward Tambling at the organ. Edward also included a piece by Louis Vierne that was noted for its delicate registration and use of the swell box. Anthony Bevan is to be congratulated on his unfailing ability to conjure such mellifluous sound from our local village orchestra.
